Roots & Reflections is a dialogue-centered forum hosted by the I AM BLACK Ministry, offering a sacred space for deep conversation, critical reflection, and communal learning around issues of identity, justice, faith, and heritage. Unlike a lecture or sermon, this forum invites diverse voices from across the African continent and diaspora—scholars, activists, ministers, artists, and everyday leaders—to share lived experiences and wisdom rooted in our collective history and spiritual journey. Here, we reflect on the roots that shaped us—family, tradition, struggle, liberation, and spirituality—and we ask what they mean for us now in the face of global injustices, fractured identities, and spiritual hunger.

Our next Roots & Reflections gathering will be led by Samuel Zalanga, Professor Emeritus and Social Scientist, who taught at Bethel University for over 30 years. A seasoned scholar and trusted mentor, Prof. Zalanga brings deep wisdom at the intersection of faith, society, and Pan-African thought.
